Jaguar has built sedans for many years.... Now if Porsche built an SUV it would be a sign on the apocalypse.

That reminds me.... remember the Lotus Eminence?

Being the not so proud owner of an XJ8, the last thing I would want is a SUV made by TATa. the ford English model is just too "needy" to take out of easy reach of a tow truck. Just cannot imagine that things got better with new ownership.

I had to Google the Lotus Eminence. It is probably a good thing they never produced it.

Are you forgetting the Cayenne and Macan? The apocalypse must already be here. :D

Nah, I have a subscription to Autoweek and they frequently use that line. "OMG, what's next, a Porsche SUV??" :seeya:

I have owned a 2004 XJ from new, most reliable and classy car I have owned.

On the other hand I have a F Type V8 S, great fun but the fit and finish is abysmal for a $112000 car, in fact, most any car.

Getting by on good looks and a racing reputation was enough to keep Jaguars desirable for oh so many years, even if between the labor unions and Lucas they were pretty unreliable. Once they went the way of the wind tunnel "were all the same" shape they just became another car among so many. Still love my '58 XK150 and always drooled over "D" and "E" types but there are so many better new cars for the money now that the current Jags don't make the list. As for the SUV, well, what do you expect when cup holder size and placement are as important to the average new car buyer as anything else.
