mel kuipers Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 As of August last year, Jerry Edden's WCM Lotus came to live in my garage in Montana. I snow birded all winter so only auto crossed it once----and from the first of five runs on, the car made it clear it has a lot to teach me. Previously I auto crossed a 2006 Miata set up to STR. Turns out that ride was quite forgiving of trail braking, and developed a bad habit there. The Lotus is not that forgiving. What great fun to tweek developed instincts into other instincts. First event is Evo school the first of May. Have taken 3 of them before, but this is the first one repeat, and I figure with a new ride being so different, it is just what I need. Dave K (Westfield) gets all the credit for leading me to this car, and thanks to Jerry for building and keeping the car for me. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13954&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13955&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13956&stc=1
xcarguy Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Car still looks awesome. Always liked the yellow/red combo.
powderbrake Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Mel; I hope all is still going well with the Ultralite. Getting to be that time of year when you can drive it without freezing to death. Check with those reference I gave you regarding autocrossing, and drop those tires down to about 13-14 psi. Jerry
