Mr Mark
Trying to find info on my cylinder head. Decipher the numbers on the back. Scouring the interweb, no luck so far. Any ideas? Im guessing the 75/3 is the date but ??
Mr Mark
By the look of the lower numbers, it's been shaved some.....paperwork says 11:1 so no surprise...
Croc
I would send an email to Holbay and ask for assistance in authenticating. Paul Dunnell was son of Roger Dunnell, one of the founders of Holbay. Holbay was folded into Dunnell Engines much later. SENC
The SBH... number at the very bottom of the picture is likely the engine number... does it match the number on the block (RHS motor mount) or on any of the records? Head over to lotuselan.net, lots of knowledge there about the Lotus twin cam as it was used throughout the Elan's life, including Holbay iterations. Several there have access to extensive records and may be able to help confirm whether your engine was original to your car or, if not, what it may have originally been in.
