Vinman1 Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 I am looking to purchase an up-rated master cylinder, Caterham part #77176 or a good substitute for the 1979 Seven I am building. Not having any luck with Caterham, US suppliers, AP, etc. Any and all inputs welcome. Vin
sltous Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 I purchased my uprated AP racing master cylinder from Beachman Racing. http://www.beachmanracing.com/master-cylinder I would recommend adding the brake master cylinder race cap (or similar) http://www.beachmanracing.com/brake-master-cylinder-cap-race, I could not get my cap with fluid sensor to seal properly and was getting brake fluid leaks until I put this cap in place. Dramatically improved pedal feel in my application.
TMRL7 Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 If you have not already done so try RD Enterprises, they are in PA r.d. enterprises ltd. Home Page (rdent.com) Tim
Vinman1 Posted January 3, 2022 Author Posted January 3, 2022 Great inputs! Will contact them. I was wondering why I see "socks" over the m/c cylinders in photos Cheers, Vin
Anker Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 A lot of Caterhams used Girling master cylinders. Try to remove yours and see if it is a Girling. They are available from a lot of places. Anker
Vinman1 Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 Anker, Thanks for the reply. There was no m/s that came on the car. I heard back from Caterham and the up-rated one became available, so I ordered it from them. Cheers, Vin
