sf4018
Thanks for sharing, I'm a bit confused about them naming it "Cup", which suggests it is a race spec car, which it doesn't look like it is. SADEV is nice. Avon ZZR Extreme tires are news to me, I'll need to look into those.
KnifeySpoony
Right, the 420 Race car that's run in the UK championship is really the "cup" car, IMO. This is just a 420R with options that have always been available. The only unique elements that I can see are the central fuel filler, 6 point harness option, and the adjustable bilsteins, and the unique cockpit/tunnel trimmings. I have read about the new extreme compound - it seems to be even softer than the A24 compound based on how they position it. Given that it's technically an "option" for the new Cup model, I wonder if it's Caterham's attempt to fit a cheater tire to a model in order to brag about lap times in their marketing. Similar to Porsche putting the Cup2R on their GT models to boast about Ring laptimes.
Mark IV
The ZZR "Extremes" are a dealer installed option, Caterham cannot install them as they do not meet DOT specifications. 48 hours after the announcement and we have already taken two orders for the CUP. That you can option the road weather equipment makes this a double-edged track/street monster. We have build slots for start of 420 CUP production early 2023. If you snooze, you lose! The SADEV six-speed sequential has been limited to the 620R, this is the first "roadable" use in a spec lower than a 620R.
