CarlB Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 I have a stupid question. The parts did not come with any instructions. I am installing the 4 pot A/P / Caterham calipers and a little confused about the pins that hold the pads. They have a band for lack of a better term at the end of the brake pad pin. I assume that is what retains the pins. I assume you push them in and the band compresses and holds the pin. Is that correct?
Bartman Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 Hey Carl, That's how it worked for mine, it was a black spring steel circlip type deal on mine, it was a compression fit.
CarlB Posted July 18, 2022 Author Posted July 18, 2022 Thank you - It seemed to be the way it should work, but I haven’t seen that before.
CarlB Posted October 11, 2022 Author Posted October 11, 2022 I think the brakes are fine, but they haven't been used yet. I had everything ready the end of July and have not been able to touch the car. My wife broke her ankle and is just now starting to put weight on it. I am actually going to take the car back apart to get the guy who put a cage on Bartman's car to put one on mine.
Bartman Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 Hey Carl, Sorry to hear about your wife sounds nasty. Dan is a super guy you'll be happy with the results I am sure. Cheers.
