In West Saint Paul O'Reilly's, it is $7.60/qt when bought in 5-quart containers.

I have studied this topic extensively and have come to the conclusion that New oil is the best.

The diesel oils have the ZDDP for the anti-wear but lack the anti-foam additives needed for the high RPM gasoline engines. I use 3qts of Mobile 1, 5w-30 and 1qt of VR-1 20w-50.  I change oil once a season or if I reach 3000 miles along with a new Wix filter.

Since you can't get zinc easily, zinc addative or liquimoly friction inhibitor essentially serves the same function. 5W-50 for my k series.
