Air horns, Velocity stacks...

Finally to the point of needing to determine what air horns / velocity stacks and screens to use for Cross flow w/ Weber 40's. Any suggestions on type (slide in or bolt on), length, materials, fasteners, and suppliers is greatly appreciated. I am told the domed screens are hard to come by?

If fitting filters over the horns, consider how far out you are willing to allow it to stick out. A solid metal cover filter requires a shorter horn to prevent restricting the flow. Everything else being equal, I'd go with a short bolt-on horn and a cotton gauze pleated filter that doesn't protrude much.

I found a few mesh caps with a quick search. Mesh reduces flow more than a traditional filter. The bigger the filter or mesh of a given type, the less restrictive it is.

Vin, The car is looking great!  You are really making progress.  Can I ask what the foam tubes on the very front are covering?  They are not present on my car.  Also, interesting that the rollbar mount is totally different (relocated) from mine.  Obviously to accommodate the newer front suspension, I did not know they made that change.

Also,  I second, Pierce as a good option for all Weber stuff.    I see the intake manifold is nicely in place.

Thanks, Tim

Tim,

Congrats on your award at the British Invasion in Stowe! Not surprised, your Seven is amazing! The foam pieces are on metal tabs which I believe are for an oil cooler, but am not sure. The foam is there as a result of finding the tabs with my forehead too many times! Yes the manifold worked out perfect, thanks again! The front suspension (upper & lower A-arms, sway bar, and aluminum blocks) are all DSK, not Lotus or Caterham. Lars made many trips to DSK in Marblehead, MA to purchase parts. As you know, Great info on the story of DSK on John Donohoe's SimpleSevens site for those who have not read it.

Talk soon,

V
