Why are the Caterham nose cone aero whiskers/canards backwards?

Anybody ever notice that Caterham officially mount their canards backwards?

Tradition mounting is wide first and narrow at the top.

What are Canards and Do They Really Help With Aerodynamics?

Is it because they know they don't really make a difference and are more aesthetically pleasing in this orientation or is there a legitimate reason?
