Ctcat Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Hello all! I'm excited to be joining this community. I am expecting a Caterham next month from the UK and was hoping to hear if anyone had any recommendations for shops in NW CT? I have a local shop that I've used for other vehicles but always think someone with some prior knowledge can be good to utilize. Thank you in advance for any input that you all have.

Welcome Ctcat, I have a friend with a Caterham that's not very handy and I will help him with some of his simple jobs when I have the time. Caterham's, especially a SuperSprint 1700 like his, are pretty simple and easy to work on. He did have to have some chassis repair done and brought it to GMT Racing in Newtown and was happy with the results. It wasn't cheap but they are very well regarded. What model Caterham did you get, and what type of work do you think you'll want done? Edited June 27, 2024 by 11Budlite
Ctcat Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 An R300 SSR its coming from England and based on the MOT should be well sorted but just trying to get out ahead of it if anything rears its head. Thanks for the recommendation - will check in to GMT.
wemtd Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 I use a local shop for alignment & have found other folks for specific parts/repairs. But don’t have a ‘mechanic for repairs’
cobra8214 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 @Ctcatdid you end up deciding on a place? I'm in south eastern CT and also recently purchased a Caterham that I'm looking to find a solid mechanic for. For what it's worth, a friend who used to race Lolas recommended GMT as well.
