Donnie
My Seven has 2- 40PHH Mikuni Solex sidedrafts. Once choke is reduced, the engine dies. Cannot maintain RPM less than 2000 RPM. Carbs were rebuilt recently. Tempted to go to Webers. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Donnie
Croc
As someone who has 12 webers to keep running I am shuddering violently right now... Sorry not much help on Mikunis - never had to work with them before.
anduril3019
Did you have the same (or other) problems before the rebuild?
11Budlite
It's been a long time since I messed with carbs. I never worked on a Mikuni, but did have a Weber DCOE on a 1275 Spridget motor that worked pretty well. Was anything changed during the rebuild, idle jet, etc, and was it doing something similar before the rebuild? Have you adjusted the idle mixture? Maybe it has a vacuum leak, are you using the soft mount setup between the carb and intake manifold? Is this on a Ford Kent?

MV8
Does the pilot screw adjustment do anything to improve the situ? https://www.mikunipower.com/PHH01.htm
