Interesting question.  Probably been asked to everyone on here if only by a concerned family member 😊

Well, my son is the fourth generation in our family to make a habit of buying and selling cars.  My Dad the Dodge, Plymouth & Chrysler desler in our town.  My son about to get his dealer license, has been buying sorting amd selling Mustangs this past year.  7 or 8 of them I believe, one on BAT right now.

I’ve never made my living selling cars but have learned that any new purchase should have the accompanying plan for how we get out.  Over the years that’s led to some really good shared experiences.  Heck, Dad sold Hemi Cudas and Superbirds new.

But to really answer this question, I mean everything is for sale.  My plan has been to sell next year after doing some more sorting and oh yeah, driving.  Not even to the 500 mile mark to open her up.  Embarrassed to admit.

In the midst of restriping.  Have a track bar I might powder coat to match the stripe.

Very cool... I'm just getting into the market, will be a serious buyer by the middle of March, so I'm really trying to figure out what I can get close to me in Florida.... so I just thought I'd ask. If you decide to sell sooner, PM me and let's make a deal.

And oh yes, the idea of keeping this car a while is sure there.  This is a slow process.  I have never stood in my garage and stared at any car half as long as this one.  Except maybe the track Elise.

Mom wondered of I’d ever be able to let go of this one.

Yes it is.  Once snow is cleared from track you’re good to go.  Have to confess having a big off resulting in a ccw spin at South Bend.  In the Elise on newly repaved but not yet repainted track.  Foot to the floor all the way up rhe climbing esses at about a buck and a quarter and tried taking Southbend too fast.  Problem was with sidelines changed and not repainted I got lost went too deep and pinched it resulting in an unrecoverable tank slapper.

Was laughing out loud when we just did one revolution on the snow covered steepish bank but stayed on the wheels and were rolling nicely.  Just damage to the front clam and reputation.   New clam but the first time 😊

Some of us used to rent VIR for a Lotus day.

Have had the misfortune of racing there once in the rain in an FE.   Going down the front straight around pit in, I look to my left and see a P1 passing me.  Start to move slowly right to let him by and get passed by another P1 on the right that I NEVER saw.  Would’ve been really ugly squeezing the P1 into the inside wall, or the side of me.
I’ve had an Elise since 2005.    You’ll love your Caterham.  MUCH different feeling on track.    Won’t trash any front clams though.    Keep it on the black stuff!!   Enjoy.
