It's raining pitchforks and hammerhandles just now.  I'll atempt to get out there today.

The buyer of my 1700 did not put the engine in a Birkin.  That engine/5-speed is bound for a Lotus 7.  Whether the mounts I supplied with the engine/5-speed will fit the Lotus without a lot of work has yet to be known to me.  I am absolutely certain they will not fit a Birkin.  Birkin uses one horizontal bolt at the chassis, which seems a bit unusual to me.

Thanks, I see that now. Chasing down the proper mounts has been like the quest for the holy grail. The originals from my Birkin were sent with the buyer of the Kent engine, even though that engine wasn't going into a Birkin. Tom Carlin doesn't have the drawings for the Kent motor mounts so he can't make them.

Nevertheless, those mounts might make the basis of mounts I could modify to work with my Birkin. Might they be for sale?

For some reason, I have not been able to find them.  I had no reason to pass them along, so they must be hiding somewhere in my attic, basement or shop.  I will look again.

Thank-you! I wish Jimmy had retained the mounts when he sold the X-flow that was originally in the car! Who knew it would be so difficult to find motor mounts?
