Duratec fuel pump standard Ford or special Caterham item?

Need to replace my fuel pump in my 2021 420R. I know it's a Ford pump but does anyone know if it's an off-the-shelf Ford part or is it specific spec for the 7?

It's out of stock and probably more expensive that buying it locally from my Ford parts counter, if it's available.

The top of the pump should have a sticker with bar codes plus there should also be an embossed plastic product code on the unit.  Get photos or tell me what they are and I think I will be able to find a substitute product stateside in 10 mins.  There is this thing on the internet called Google....

2000-2002 Ford Focus. The complete assemblies are $50-100 and the pumps by themselves are $10-100. Carter and delphi are good brands.

There is also an earlier Focus version used as I remember swapping in one in my 2018 420R - just check the product number to confirm.  Only thing that did not come with it was the wire float but you just swap that over.  

 

Huge saving over the 320GBP that Caterham is charging.  Love Rock Auto!

Rock just shows domestics. The focus was not offered here until 2000 but I expect the pump is the same as a euro 1998 focus. For those looking for a return line pump assy that SHOULD fit the cat tank opening and depth, look at the Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute pump assy.

Not having a lot of luck with my obs ford pickup fuel pumps, I was taken back when seeing "famous brand" designed by Carter (likely copied/ hi-graded) . In my shop Carter is a dirty word.  But do have an escape/tribute setting outside dead that recently ran with one dead cyl. might actually be a usa pump pr perhaps jdm.

I think the escape/tribute pump assy will stick up higher by a half inch or so than the focus pump due to the fittings. I've not used any carter other than the gerotor pumps made for carbs. Those have been excellent.

 Obviously I have searched for this information. The part number is on the top of my pump (bv61-9h307-dd). I didn't know if the internals specs or dimensions of the unit/float is different as used by Caterham. Hence my question...

So.... can we confirm that the part is indeed an off-the-shelf Ford part without any modifications? Or are we just assuming?

It isn't obvious that you've determined anything. The number crosses to a standard 2013-2017 focus ST for the euro market (about $100).

 

Could Cat be shipping these to someone who mods the board to work with the Cat speedo? Why ask? You are in a better position than anybody to determine that because you have their pump in-hand.

 

Spend a few bucks to get a focus assy (1gen or euro 3gen), remove yours, compare the resistance change when swinging the float arm to compare. If the swing is different, swap the resistor board to the pump you bought.

 

EDIT: I found the ohms for the 1gen: 15-160, 3gen 464-50, Empty-full.

 

Since you are not going to run a return, the 3rd gen euro is the best bet for matching pump output.

For some reason on rockauto, it does not show the pump part number I have. Looking at other sources, it shows my part number as being for a 2012 Focus. But then looking up 2012 focus on rockauto, it shows different part numbers, not the one I have.

Not sure if the image is supposed to be representative, but the top of the housing and layout of connections looks different.

And obviously I have tried to find a source that lists a BV619H307DD compatible pump, but I cannot find a US source, and I am afraid of random ebay sellers selling unbranded stuff. If need be I will pay shipping/tariffs, as they're still much less than what Caterham is charging.

Looking at the design of the pump and "hanger" mechanism - it looks like the depth of the pump may be adjustable with the hanging rods. I assume if a pump I get is different depth than what I have, I can easily adjust it? Or is this depth fixed?

Best guess is BV619H307DD is a Euro-only part number. But cross-referencing to domestic part numbers seems impossible despite the last 2 hrs of my googling. I will either have to take a leap of faith and hope the domestic part works, or buy from Europe.

The bucket has compression springs on the rods. Installing the pump lid to the tank compresses the springs to load the bucket against the tank floor.

 

Still looking for a domestic source.

Interesting when I pulled my pump for inspection it didn't appear it would hit bottom and I didn't feel any resistance when replacing it.

Couldn't find the gen3 euro pump domestically. What I found is probably what you found. There are a number of pumps for asian market ford 2.0ls with the same connections that are in CA and use a different suffix on the basic ford part number but I didn't research them further. Tariff pumps:
