Reiver Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) When I mounted the Toyo's the other day they rubbed on the driver side cycle fender struts a great deal and just a tad on the other side. Never any interference with the Avons it came with. 2012 r400 The Toyo's have a rounder side wall...I have 1/4 in spacers on now but 1/8th coming and I believe they will work. Very tight. the driver side struts were welded slightly closer than the off side. They are on and spinning. It has not been in a wreck etc.... just a tad different side to side as to spacing. Anyone else have this issue with the cycle fenders? Nice addition to ride height for the road...3 1/4 in. under the tranny guard (dry sump) ...that's a plus and have not messed with the adjustable shocks as yet. Edited January 1 by Reiver
Slonie Posted January 5 Posted January 5 This brings to mind @CarYenta's experience in adapting the fender stays to fit a troublesome tire... Linked to the post about bending them to fit. As a side note, my 205/60R13 R888R rubs my rear fender under compression (if I had less-negative offset rear wheels it wouldn't be a problem...)
Reiver Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 I looked at bending the struts but the one on the left side would have been too off center on the tire....I'm going to stick with 6mm spacers (concentric quality ones) as there is more than 1/2 inch of threads. If I were tracking I'd try something else.
