I have a 2006 Caterham, standard chassis.  I have 6J x 14 Minators on it now, and the tires (185/60 R14, all around) are aged out.  With the options for interesting tires in 14" pretty much nil, and being concerned with ground clearance, I am looking at 15" replacement wheels.  (I have cycle front fenders.)  I LOVE the Orcus wheels!

I need to somehow confirm that I can get an Orcus wheel, with an appropriate tire, into the front fenders, without interference.  (Of course, no fitment problems with the rears.)

Can anyone help with my questions?  I posted a question with a Caterham dealer, and got no response!  I believe the Orcus wheels are 6.5" wide.

Thanks!

I ran Falken RT615K+ on my 7. 195/60/14. fit fine with cycle fenders and performed well on street and a few track days. no issues with ground clearance.  The RT660+ also come in same size.

I don't know which dealer you contacted, but I'd try sending an email to Josh at Rocky Mountain Caterham as I've found him to be very responsive in the past.

Also I'm pretty sure the RT615K+ or RT660+ are at the top of my list if I ever get 14s... Call it brand loyalty from the days of running the original Azenis back in the day?

I believe one of our members in sort of your place in the world has a surplus set of Prisoner wheels, which are 6.5 x 15.  He offered them to me, but I already have a set of Prisoner wheels.

Or, you could try a set of 14" Yokohama 052 tires which will outstick those Falkens regardless of size.

Are you using 185/55R14  Yoko 052's, on 6J x 14 wheels, with cycle front fenders?  If so, that should work for me!  THANKS!

I'm not, but I certainly recommended them to a young man autocrossing a Honda Beat here in the Twin Cities.

I am running 195 Yokos on 15" Prisoner wheels on my Caterham.  I have clam fenders on both my Caterham and my Birkin.  The Birkin has 15x7 wheels and a friend of mine who is a National Champion autocrosser has given me four used Yoko 205mm tires that I intend to put on the Birkin.

Yeah, my friend has a Birkin, but his front fenders are significantly different than my Caterham's.  I think I'm gonna try the Yoko's - I loved the Yokohama tires I originally got on my Elise!

Thank you!
