TN_Scooter Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Has anyone had an issue with the wiper blades on your 7? I don't use them often but I noticed the issue when I went to wash a few bugs off of the windscreen. I had the half-roof on and noticed the wipers having a problem getting past the top of the windscreen. With the roof off, the wipers were hitting the frame but I don't use the wipers enough to have noticed the issue. I am curious if the blade and the device that connects the blade to the wiper arm were assembled backwards with the longer end of the blade towards the window frame. I've put some rough measurements on the picture if someone could verify for me. Thanks for the help.
JohnCh Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I never installed my wipers but just checked them. If your measurements are correct, something is off. The overall length of my SV blades is just 8.25".
TN_Scooter Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 JohnCH, Just checked mine, they are 9.25," looks like a full inch too long. Thanks for checking. 1
CBuff Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I think the blat chat folks have come across similar issues. Sourcing Land Rover blades. I think they just cut off the excess. https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/forums/topic/272984-wipers-have-i-got-long-arms/
TN_Scooter Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 CBuff, thanks for the link. Looks like I have a little project for later this week.
BruceBe Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Yes - there are production variances that have the blades contacting the top of the windscreen frame. Snip (actually, grind) Cheers, -Bruce 1
