Hi all, I feel like it's worth posting here because you never know what someone is sitting on thinking about getting rid of...

After years of wanting one, I'm finally in a position to pick up a 7 rep of some variety and have been having a heck of a time finding what I'm looking for. My budget is around $35k on the top end, and I have some specific goals in mind, those being:

-First and foremost, I need a car I can register in California. This means something with an existing California title, an SB100/BAR label from a previous life in California, something still on MSO (least preferred option), or something registered as "1964 Lotus" or the like (pretty much any pre-1969 year). If a car is a SUPER good deal I would be willing to consider others, I'd just have to go through the process of applying for the SB100 exemption again which is time/labor intensive.

-I want something "modern." 1990+, de-dion/independent rear end

-Modern drivetrain, be it Zetec or K-series or Hayabusa or the other kind of K series

-I have a strong preference towards cycle fenders vs clamshells

What doesn't matter to me:

-I don't care if the body is a Caterham or a Birkin, I'm 5'10" 120 so I can likely fit in whatever variety of chassis

-I can deal with cosmetic issues, upholstery issues, etc

-I don't care about windscreen type

I know about the Superlight R300 currently up on BAT, it's ideal for me but it looks like it'll be going out of budget so figure it's worth throwing it out here as well. I also have a Lotus Carlton I'm about to sell that could be a trade item with cash my way. Thanks, all!

Have you checked out @Croc's latest post in his for sale thread, which he updates weekly? I see a couple of Caterhams that come in at $35k or under.

@JohnCh I'm quite an avid follower :classic_biggrin:

With most cars on the list it comes down to not being able to register it. The '98 Vauxhall 2.0 or the '16 Roadsport 140 would be great but neither could be easily plated here.
