Well.... Everything went well today, and I got my WCM Ultralite picked up and I'm almost home with it. Thanks to the forum, I was able to find the car I wanted and so excited to get it and drive it for the first time on Tuesday!

Good looking car and the sweetest motor around.  Congratulations!

I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight before I can get her off the trailer and take that first drive

At the detailers getting all beautiful, I cannot believe the detailed paperwork the owner had. I'm very lucky

Got my new steering wheel, I've moved the pedals forward a good 4", much more leg room now, I will need to adjust the throttle cable, revs are a bit off, too high because of the movement. I will need to build a pedal cover, does not seem there are any companies around anymore to make parts, but I think I can handle it. Tons of paperwork came with the car along with a custom trailer ... Very happy so far.

Took out the corroplastic floor decking and put some brown seadeck foam flooring, works well as an insulator

Yes I can see why brown is a practical color in these cars. :leaving:

it just looks way better than the corroplastic mats the previous owner used. And it is a better heat insulator, plus I found that the parking brake was in the engaged position for the last few years, I was shocked that the rotors were not totally cooked, I will just need to do some adjustments

The cupholder puts a smile on my face. I've never wanted one in my 7, but I guess even an entirely impractical car needs a little bit of practicality?

I know... it's really kind of stupid, but I actually used it the first drive I took, it works in a way, it gets in the way too!

Had to add a few more personal touches, my race cars are always named after my Grandmother Mavis Long, so I had to do a decal for her and even though I know the WCM is a replica of a 1968 Lotus, I prefer my 66 numbers, so it's my car, my story now.

Love the nose art, as the fly boys called it.

I've always had something like that on my special cars, my Grandmother was a special Lady.

Beautiful WCM! (Is that your Goblin? If so, how does it drive? Mostly interested in mid-engine driving dynamics in such a stripped car)

The goblin is a great driving car, but is very sensitive to camber & caster, and it's a bit involved to set.... So I have not been able to push it to its limits yet, hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to tell you more. Right now, it's in the shop getting a proper tune on the system, then will come back to my shop for the proper alignment.

I’ll be interested to hear more. Looks appropriately bonkers (and theoretically a whole different animal than a 7). I need a reason not to impulsively buy a Fiat X1/9 just to have a mid-engined car

Mine was an impulse buy because I did not think I was going to get a WCM, then right after I bought the Goblin, Peter called me and made me an offer I could not refuse, so two track cars...  My wife was so excited.. NOT!

You are going to want to get rid of that vent on the left side. The previous owner of mine put one on the right side about the same place. Aerodynamically all that hot air is going to swirl right into the cockpit. Without a windshield to push the air over the top of you about your only option is to bottom breathe it.

Edit, Congratulations on finding one! I was looking at normal 7s and not ready to buy when I ran across mine. I did not pass it up realizing these do not come up for sale that often.
