EburgE Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 There is a that time in every Caterham assembler's journey when it is necessary to beg for tools and assistance. Please PM me with your email address if you 1. Can loan a 41 mm socket and 200 lb torque wrench. 2. Can loan an engine stand and/or hoist. (I have a garden trailer to haul these with.) 3. Want to be present to wrestle the engine into the chasssis in February. First try, anyway. Thanks, Harold

How long / when do you need it? nevermind... read the rest of your post. Let me see if my friend can free those pieces... it's the guy in the "Evening fun" thread, so I have to ask politely
EburgE Posted January 3, 2008 Author Posted January 3, 2008 Thanks, Mazda. Trying very hard to have everything ready by the first or second weekend in February.
S1Steve Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 EburgE, Nice web site, It's nice to watch a build. I have your torque wrench, but I don't have a 41 mm socket. Priced a 3/4 drive 41mm at 12 bucks, if you need it once, you'll need it again. Whats it for ??? I can meet you on I95 exit when you need it. Steve
BobDrye Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 I have an engine stand in Springfield, Va that you can use>
fnmag58 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 EburgE, I have both a stand and a hoist available but possibly to far away from you. But they are available so just ask--located in Stafford, VA.
EburgE Posted January 3, 2008 Author Posted January 3, 2008 Thanks, all for the support. :flag: The 41 mm socket and 200 ft./lb. torque wrench are for the rear wheel hubs.
stevet Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 I have a torque wrench (bought for the exact same reason) that I could bring up to DC if that helps. When I did my rear hubs I went to my local garage and borrowed a 41mm socket for an hour - they didn't even charge me - it's worth asking 'cos it's probably (hopefully) a one time use thing. I could be around to help with installation, where are you exactly? Steve.
BobDrye Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Harold; You're less than an hour from the Vienna Inn. If we start having monthly Blats there guys could exchange things there. I'll be there this Saturday.
EburgE Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 Thanks! Got the 41mm socket from Northern Tool. Only $5 and free shipping! :hurray:
Al N. Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Might be fun to have a meet up to help Harold in Feb. I'd love to see my VA/MD/DC pals if time permits. Keep us posted Harold.
EburgE Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 Awesome! If we can get more than five to show up, then I'll have it catered! I would rather offer copious amounts of beer, but of course everyone who shows up will be a self-designated driver!
EburgE Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 man, it looks SO clean. Man, don't hold this against me. The order form doesn't have a Stone Wash Option. I have to admit I was influenced somewhat by your car when I decided to pick bare aluminium. It'll just take awhile to look like yours. And it sounds like, if I use cable ties to attach the wings, then they will look like yours quicker! :leaving:
BobDrye Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Awesome! Harold: Some of us find beer to filling and prefer wine. I've found that as an "Old German" I have developed a thirst for Gewurztraminer. :banghead: :banghead:
