1993 de Dion Caterham with 1700cc 711M Kent crossflow

Second owner, original parts list, Caterhan assembly manual, and build documnetation will be included. Many spares included and the original owner did many little tricks during assembly. The original owner built this to keep and to never sell, expert workmanship makes this car an absolute joy to drive. I've driven the car approximately 1200 miles since purchasing 3 years ago, always garaged. I'm selling to purchase a Formula car as my "jones" of racing continues.

FIA cage installed with side crash bars, new wind deflectors. Currently I have a new Caterham black bench seat and cushions installed for more leg room, Corbeau 5 point drivers side belt installed, original Luke harnesses still with the car. Halogen bulbs with individual relay circuits. Side crash bars. Removable steering wheel. Currently on the car are K&N style wheels with new (500 miles) Yokohama Advan 032R's

2 Fuel Safe fuel cells, see http://www.lotusowners.com/RepairsUpgrades/Caterham/index.htm for full installation and fabrication details. 3rd brake light installed on the FIA cage. Custom battery tray installed on top of heater for 2 dry cell Odessey type batteries. Currently I only have 1 brand new Odessey installed but have the custom battery cables to hook up two should you desire (was that way when I purchased it).

711M block engine built by Jay Ivey on the West Coast. Noted Formula Ford engine builder. Dry sumped withe new 5 port Titan adjustable oil pump installed by me. Dyno sheet, included, indicates 147hp at the time of build. Engine is still extremely strong and doesn't consume any oil. The engine has dual Weber 40 DCOE's on original length intake. New Silicone hoses and high output wires. Oil pressure is 20lbs at idle after warming up.

5 speed T9 transmission in excellent shape

New Leda fast road/race coilover fully adjustable, 24 position, dampers. Built by the Racers Edge Racing Components these coiloveers allow for ride height adjustment and to dial in corner weights. Hpercoils, 250 lb on the front, and 175 lb on the rear. These type of dampers are some of the very best on the market today and are found on most competition Porsches.

Rain gear includes soft top that fits over the FIA roll cage and 2 pc. tonneau cover that also fits around the FIA cage and side crash bars.

SPARES:

1600cc 6015B shortblock with crank, rods, pistons, cam installed. In usable condition at most. Parts rotate. Includes the head, Weber downdraft instake with Weber 32/34 carb, flywheel, and two types of oil pans.

Brand new 4 into 1 exhaust with collector.

4.25 inch length twin Weber 40 DCOE racing intake manifold.

2 Weber 40 DCOE carbs

Spare Green fiberglass nose

Original Caterham leather adjustable bucket seats with tracks. These were romved to give me more leg roon, excellent condition, no rips or teats.

Caterham Roll Bar with brand new Petty bar should you want to remove the FIA cage

5 Prisoner type wheels with 4 Bridgestone Potenza 195/50ZR/15's mounted, with a good amount of life left. Some pictures show these wheels on the car. One has a Goodyear mounted (spare).

Additional miscellaneous spares include a new Petronix ignitor, gasket sets, Mintex front disc pads, all original Caterham oil lines for the oil cooler configuration without the dry sump. Inline Caterham oil thermostat module and the original right hand engine mount for non dry sump configuration.

8 years of Low Flying included, my wife will love it

$24,500

I've let Tony know my intention for several weeks, guess he has to sell an Elan he currently has first. I've gone back and forth on the Formula car and it's come down to needing to sell the Cat now to purchase the Formula.

When I purchased it form Tony I told him I'd give him the right of first refusal which I've done. I'd like to see him purchase it, or for that matter anyone who has a desire to own a Caterham.

Thought I would chime in. Rick has been very nice and has offered to let me buy it back. He is really a standup guy and a man of his word. I am unfortunetly tied up with a 71 Spyder chassis Elan. Great car with 26R fenders and a screamer motor, but not my Caterham. In my opinion it is also the ultimate street/track Elan. I am trying to put it back together to sell but my computer business is getting in the way.

I need to assemble the rebuilt block to the rebuilt head and put the engine in the car. I then need to rebuild and assemble all four brake calipers do some mild interior stuff.

I wouild love to buy my car back. If I could find the cash, I would buy it now and sell the Elan later, but I am not able to do that now due to various reasons.

This Elan will be worth about 30K when I am done, but I will not be done soon enough. Dont mean to hijack this thread and i dont think I am as an Elan buyer is not a Caterham buyer but Anyone want to buy a partially taken apart Elan so I can buy back my car?A similar car without the 26R bodywork just sold on EBay for 32K

When it rains it pours, right Tony? Tony had asked if I would let him know if I was ever selling my M100, he must of got your email about the same time I told him I was selling my M100.

Same thing always happens to me also.

Tony send me some info on your Elan, I am running in some big Lotus circles with my new job.

Yes...I wish I had the cash. Your M100...My Caterham, this Spyder Elan and my current supercharged Elise would be my dream garage. Of couse if you throw in a Ferrari Daytona, it would be one of those dreams I had when I was a teenager with Farrah Fawcetts picture on the wall.

Yes...that is the one I was thinking of. But to be honest that is a little after my highschool days and college days. I think I was more of a Playboy centerfold era person. My dad used to allow me to buy them at the drugstore down the street when I was about 13 or 14. I used to charge them to my dad's account. I had a nice father in that regard.
