xflow7
I was going to wash the car today as it was actually a good deal above freezing and sunny for a change. Then I realized that the hose wasn't out yet this year and I didn't particularly feel like screwing around with it... ...so I went for blat! :7fume: My first since the onset of winter. Made a beeline for the PA border since my NY inspection isn't complete yet (on this week's agenda, weather permitting) and discovered some pretty nice roads. Also discovered that I have a MASSIVE exhaust leak courtesy of a 1/4" chunk missing from the #2 exhaust gasket, and that one of those nice roads *rapidly* deteriorates into a 1st-class filling-remover before you have a chance to slow down. :cuss: Nevertheless, was great to be back out. Roll on Spring! :hurray:

xflow7
PA is not known for high quality roads. I know. I grew up there. But this one was really nice up until the Badlands. Really it was!

xflow7
Dave, what roads did u travel? google maps didn't have any listing Badlands, PA, NJ or NY. D'oh! Badlands was just my made-up name for the war-zone stretch of road I suddenly encountered. :leaving: I was somewhere around the Silver Lake, PA vicinity having gone down Rt. 26 / Rt. 267 a ways and then turned left on some road or other. Google Map Will definitely be exploring that area some more once the car's legal and I have a full tank of gas.
locostv8
When I worked in Philly I stoped driving the Porsche in town for fear it wouild get lost in a pot hole.
snettleship
I have a friend of mine who has suggested that in PA roads are constantly under construction because roads are build there and then shipped to other states....
xflow7
 I have a buddy (in Allentown) who refers to construction as the State Bird of Pennsylvania. Dave
locostv8
I am convinced that PA and a couple of other northern states do not fix pot holes they just wait till you have memorized where they are then they MOVE them.
Dave W
I only wish the Michigan roads were as bad as PA's, In that case the Michigan state bird must be the cold patch. Pot holes big enough that it would take week to find a Seven if it fell in it. Dave W :7fume:

I lived in Ann Arbor up until a year ago and there were some nice examples of infrastructure neglect there as well. You live in South Lyon? How long have you been there and with Seven? Dave W
I moved to Michigan about 5 years ago, and I've only had the seven on the road since last summer. I had been in PA for 11 years and had just moved here from Kentucky, and these roads are by far the worst. I cruise around a lot just up from the Ann Arbor area, in the Brighton recreation area.
