powderbrake
Mazda: Could it be that pictures are the problem? It seems that when people upload pics, the tend to use their high def pics. Could the site convert the high def to 800 X 600 and store that pic? This would give plenty of resolution for viewing the website, and reduce bandwidth in general. EDIT: I just tried the link without the www, and it is mucho faster. I don't know what you did but it is really good. Keep up the good work. Mandurath
Odd, I generally have few problems, and most of my reading is done on the road as of late with my iphone. Except when larger pics come up, hehe some of the HD photos I give up on. Thankfully the text loads first and I can scroll past the loading images. Maybe a size limit on pics, and a gallery for the high resolution pics, with links in the forum post to the high res pics. So everytime the post is being read the pics are only downloaded if you want to see them, fewer resources are being used.
slngsht
Mandurath, I periodically resize all the pics. Obviously not frequently enough. For some posts, a high res pic would be nice. I'll keep resizing.
Ian7
Maybe just me, but I couldn't access the forums last night. All I got was a blank white screen and the note at the bottom "waiting for..." Worked fine during the day, and other sites I was at last night loaded normally and quickly. Seems ok this morning. Curious.
