hello all,

just want to introduce myself, my name is daniel and i just picked up a 2002 WCM Ultralite last week. the car needs a little tlc but i am hoping to get her on the road shortly.

if anyone has guidance as to street wheel sizes, bolt pattern and offsets etc I will be posting in that section of the forum shortly as all i got from the seller were slicks.

thank you.

Welcome

Pretty far from the Bay Area but if your ever in the neighborhood or have a question (though I'm one of the least mechanically inclined here)... I do have 225/45/17 & 275/40/17 on 8 & 9 inch wheels with backspace of 35mm in front & 43mm in rear. They may be a bit overkill (was looking at a supercharger but lots of $$$) they fill out the fenders nicely.

Daniel:

Welcome to the USA7s site, and welcome to the Ultralite fraternity.

The various replies indicate that there is some room for variations on wheel offset. I run 35mm offset front and rear, 225/45/17 front ( 7.5 wide rim) and 245/45/17 rear ( 8.0 wide), with Falken Azenis RT615's.

keep us up to date as you get the car ready for the road.

I love the color of your car.

thanks for the replies everyone,

yes this is tom's car, i bought it from the person who he sold it to a few years back. it is chassis WCM0018. it has been sitting for awhile so i am planning to go through the car completely and check everything. is there some sort of build manual or guide showing torque specs and the like?

thank you.

Daniel,

Brian is continually upgrading the cars and it seems no two are exactly alike. So even if there were a manual as old as your car is it probably wouldnt apply. The cars are pretty simple and straight forward though so if you are mechanically inclined I'd say you'll figure it out. Maybe the trickiest part is that there is so much adjustability in the suspension that it's time consuming to understand how to set it up. I havent tackled this yet as my car is still under construction. Any questions you have, Brian is a real nice guy and I'm sure he'll help you out.

For wheels/tires I followed the pack and got the 225 and 245 Falken Azenis. Obviously cant comment on the performance yet but I'm pleased with the fit and the look.

thanks mike,

i can appreciate and understand all that. i am mechanically inclined and do self-maintain my cars so i think i will be able to figure most things out. that said, i am also a "book" kind of guy, so, for example, i have no idea what torque the suspension components should be or whether the brake fluid is synthetic or mineral, etc.

i am going for 225s and 245s as well. i guess i will need to find a home for the 16" wide slicks and wheels that were included in the sale!

  • 3 months later...

Welcome to the Fam.... Your going to love that car.... They are so much to drive.

The honda repair manual is a big help for toque specs for your drivetrain.

I picked mine up through an on line honda parts dealer.

Cheers
