Hank Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Do welders ever get carpel tunnel from all of the intricate work they do? My mother-in-law is a title clerk and she's had it TWICE in both wrists from typing a lot. I figure a welder making manifolds like that might end up hurting later.
Kitcat Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Welders typically get lung disease from all the fumes they breathe, year after year. Then low back problems from all the bending, lifting. My law practice consists of helping injured workers get SS disability and I have represented a number of welders over the 35 years I have been doing this. Carpal tunnel seems to be an equal opportunity disease and affects people across a broad cross section. Certainly repetitive use of the hands and wrists are a risk factor tho. Mike
