yellowss7
Nice Front and rear Cover photo and story in the July-August Lotus ReMarque magazine of a 68 Series 3 and the new Caterham R400. Nice to see the Caterhams getting a fair shake from the Lotus Owners. I don't like the looks of the new Caterham Bugeye headlight brackets though. They stick up way too far. BTW, I noticed in the LOG29 Concourse results that Steve Mongtomery took 1st in the Caterham division and I was surprised to see that I took 2nd. Dean G also took second in the Lotus 7 Concourse category. Steve also took the Autox for Class 4/Sevens. Tom
scannon
I don't like the looks of the new Caterham Bugeye headlight brackets though. They stick up way too far. Tom They had to do that for headlight height requirements. However, you can order the lower brackets from Caterham USA at a fairly reasonable price. I have them on my SV with smaller, motorcycle headlights and it looks a lot better that way. Congrats to Tom, Dean and Steve for their podium finishes at LOG29. :hurray::hurray::hurray:
Alaskossie
i don't think the Caterham headlamp brackets are "new." The cars have had that surprised, frog-eyed look ever since the EU headlamp height regs came into effect a number of years ago. I have a set of the lowered,single-post Caterham brackets to sell, as I am going with a cottage-industry bracket that has an auxiliary support bar to the front A-arm bolt, like the stock Caterham ones have; but the mounting boss for the lamp is much lower than stock. Al N.
You know what is oddest about those LOG concours results, Tom? That Bill Baldwin's car came in third in class —*but first overall!?!? I liked Ross Robbins' piece on S3 vs Caterham, natch.
