Visited Al's New Car Today

I stopped by Caterham USA this afternoon to talk to Ben and while in the shop had a good look at Al's car under construction. I saw this car when they first got it and it looks MUCH better now. Still a ways from being on the street but the workmanship looks top notch. I didn't have my camera along so no pictures to post.

 

Their R500 is close to being finished, it looks great in the Gulf blue and orange. Not so sure I like the digital dash and push buttons. There was also an all red SV there, just completed that looked great. It has a 170 hp engine and I think he said it was going to Tennessee. Anyone on here order a red with black leather SV?

Ben told me that after the R500 was tested by the car mags, it wld be for sale for around $70K. Given the plunging $, that is probably not a bad price.

not sure. if the lighted push buttons have some durability to them, i think there have been early issues, it may be worth it.

 

or Birkin w/ IRS thats Raceline/Ammo powered may be the better option. i'd love to see a 5 way head to head w/ a US spec CSR 260, r500, FM Westfied, Birkin IRS, and Randy Chase's Toniq venture.
