khamai
Greetings, I finally got around to joining. While I'm Seven-less for the moment, I long to have another. I dearly miss my old S2 Seven. I did a ground up restoration and then drove on the street & track for years. Restoration Story Anyway, here are a couple photos of my old Seven. Cheers, Kiyoshi
snookwheel
Your build / restoration story is a good read! It must have been tough to part with it after doing all that. Enjoyed it.Thanks. Scott

11Budlite
Welcome Kiyoshi! I enjoyed reading your restoration story when I first started looking for a Seven back in 2001 or so. Hope you can find another Seven to replace your old one!
TheDingo8MyBaby
Kiyoshi - (This is Geoff Wise as you probably don't recognize the screen name) Growing up around your car (and the ones in Mike O's shop) made me want a 7 as a kid. Great write up... it brought back a lot of good memories. I was suprised to read you had enough room beside the clutch for a dead pedal. When you say you "long" to have another, does that mean you're currently looking?

khamai
Thanks for the warm welcome! In an ideal world the current owner of my old Seven would sell it back to me! But, he loves the car... but I can dream. Selling it was a tough decision, no regrets, it was a dual purpose car street & track, but I decided I needed a dedicated track car and something tamer on for the street (since my brain would switch to race mode anytime I was behind the wheel of the Seven). Hi Geoff!!!! Dead pedal - Ha!!! It was a 1" x 1.5" piece of aluminum angle riveted to the side of the foot box! I had to fold the inside edge so as not to catch my shoe. I got a ride in an Atom a couple weeks ago at Laguna and it sooooo reminded me of my Seven. And rekindled the "itch" (does it EVER go away?) Unfortunately I'll just have to dream until my resources improve (in start-up mode = lots of work & no pay). I had to fold the inside edge so as not to catch my shoe. I've actually considered doing the exact same thing, but I was a bit hesitant about putting holes in the side of the aluminum panel. I've been considering adding a piece from above and braced at the back of the pedal box so I could still stick my foot behind it if I so desired. Unfortunately I'll just have to dream until my resources improve (in start-up mode = lots of work & no pay). You're in Mountain View right? What company? I will likely be moving to sunnyvale/mountain view in the near future... Edited February 26, 2010 by TheDingo8MyBaby

khamai
I've actually considered doing the exact same thing, but I was a bit hesitant about putting holes in the side of the aluminum panel. I've been considering adding a piece from above and braced at the back of the pedal box so I could still stick my foot behind it if I so desired. What I described was more like a "Dead TAB" and not a "pedal". I had it riveted to one of the uprights in the chassis. I think Lotus stole my idea because the "dead pedal" in my Elise is only about 50% larger! You're in Mountain View right? What company? I will likely be moving to sunnyvale/mountain view in the near future... I'm nearby. I'm sure your folks would love to have you closer to home! If only my garage were larger.... It would be really awesome to magically replace one of the Elans with a Seven! BTW... I still have a Loooooong wish list! Cheers, Kiyoshi P.S. Not sure if I can get to PA for LOG this year, but I'm going to try.
