Well I have been busy building but not on my Ultralite unfortantely. I have a turf treatment business that I run on the side from my fire department job. I started top dressing yards last year with compost and needed something better than a shovel to load my top dresser. So this is what I came up with. It is a 9 yd conveyor floor bin.

I can't wait to see it in action !

I am sure like everything you build it will perform beautifully.

That is a hell of a trailer you have on,

What do you think it will all weigh when fully loaded?

Great job.

If you expand your business or want more capacity, what you developed looks exactly like the "Potato Bed" trucks I used to drive in my youth. Although we used ours for seed wheat, the bed was designed for potato handling.

It is basically identical to what you made, except it was powered via PTO, not a separate engine. Slab sided bed with lower third a v-bottom, and a conveyor belt base. You could control flow by conveyor speed and hatch opening rate.

I bet you could get a pretty used cheap potato bed truck if you wanted something dedicated. Look in ID and WA as this is where I have seen them most often.

That looks like a trailer version of a "gravel shooter", just without the steerable conveyor chute. They use these "shooters" to place all of the rock along our freeways now. Man, can they lay a lot of gravel with one of those.
