supersportsp
Just out of curiosity, have you dyno'd your car? Your motor set-up is very similar to mine, and I think my motor is more like 160-165 hp. The guy I bought it from told me 175, but I think that is optimistic, even after my recent carb tuning. Perhaps I have just gotten used to the power?
Automoda
Thats a perfect photograph. Really awesome. The total-red is very nice. Jealous of your LSD and wide track! The cargo thing is brilliant. My audio system is ear plugs. ;o)
Oyagi
I think the cargo box can be substituted for a sidecar, make it the world's first 3 seater 7! LOL.
twobone
Can you show us the stereo and speaker placements?
Oyagi
Not sure how often Nick comes here, but I'll just preview his answer by saying he's got two speakers mounted one on top of the other in a custom enclosure between the seats. On the dash is an iPod nano that looks like it's held with velcro. Very clean and simple. I don't recall seeing a headunit anywhere, so either it doesn't exit or is hidden. BMW RACER
My audio is Webers on the right channel and a small Magnaflow on the left channel. The volume is controlled by my right foot!!!
ihckb2
Hey Nick I was passed on to you from Oyaji who used to own the Fejer 7 your buddy now owns. I have an 84 Fejer and was wondering if the old clamshell fenders would be available for sale. Regards Glen ihckb2 84 Fejer
nleroux7
About the cargo box: I bought two aluminium tool box from a company called Unique Truck Accesories. The cargo part number is : TOTE-24. They are water tight and they can be lock to keep your stuff safe. I found them really practical and they don't affect the driving of my car at all. Of course this setup will only work with cycle wings, not with clamshell fenders. I bolted both boxes together with 1/2 inch spacers so the covers don't rub on each other. Then I added a piece of 1/2 X 1-1/2 tube on the rear of the boxes the add more strenght. The box are held in place with 2 pieces of 1 X 1 square tube that I bolted thru the frame. Is it really simple and the whole setup only weight about 20 pounds. I'll try to post more pictures anytime soon. About my stereo system: I made myself a little MDF box between both seats. The Birkin is pretty narrow so I was only able to put two Polk Audio 4-1/2" speakers between the seats. The Ipod is held is place with velcro on the dashboard so it is easy to remove it and take it with me when I park the car somewhere. The head unit is mounted under the dash with a large single tie-wrap. It is a mini amplifier that you can find on Ebay for around 40$ making a search on "Motorcycle Amplifiers". It is not a high quality amplifier but it is good enough to hear it at speeds lower thatn 60 mph. With the side curtains on there's no problem at all at any speed. nleroux7
Supersport SP: I did not tried my car on a Dyno. And I saw that I've wrote 185 HP. It is more like 165-170 HP in reality. I just copy/paste an old list I had on my computer and it was not up to date!
nleroux7
Oh I almost forgot. twobone
I really like the speaker box. I see a winter project coming together. I won't bother you with lots of questions, but just so I don't set the car on fire, where did you take the power from? Can you share a wiring approach?
nleroux7
My amplifier is wired directly on the battery (with a fuse close to the battery). I wanted to be able to turn the music on without having to put the car key in. It doesnt draw a lot of current. The wires came with the amplifier I bought. Couldnt be more simple Nick
