g-man Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Gentlemen: I just discovered this site today - I wish I had known about it years ago!! I have reluctantly decided to offer my S-1 for sale. Only 56 of these things were made. The rolling chassis came complete and is of very high quality construction. I went whole hog in doing the drivetrain install and had a lot of fun doing it. Unfortunately I don't get anywhere near the use out of it that I had anticipated so it spends most of its time sitting under a cover in the garage waiting to be exercised. Just too many priorities and not enough time. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. Check out the pics here: http://superformance.org/forsale/SV090210GH.html
Mondo Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I've always thought the S-1 looked to be the most civilized version of a 7 and would be good for road trips (as much as any 7 can be). With the SB100, someone from California ought to jump on it... nice price too. Good luck... though I'm sure you'll miss it when it's gone.
slngsht Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 i've seen a couple of these and always come away super impressed.
MightyMike Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Good luck with the sale. Your S1 is a very nice specimen.
S1Steve Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I know alittle about this S1, and have to say this is one of the most well built and well sorted S1's out there. If you are looking for an S1, jump on it. Gunther, Good luck with the sale, love the wheels , paint or powder coated ???
jimrankin Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Looks like a well done build and after the last 300 mile blast in my S2k the full windshield and side curtains look like a really nice option. I'll bet that 25K fall weather price will look like even a better deal to the next owner when spring rolls around. Probably couldn't get all the parts together for anywhere close to twice 25K.
g-man Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 Thanks for the kind words guys (is that you Steve, #047? - wheels were painted by a wheel shop - color + clear coat). I have this funny feeling I'm going to regret it when it's gone but then it wouldn't be the first time I've had seller's remorse. Actually, along the lines of yanking the bandaide off rather than slowly pulling it off, I've got my other you-don't-see-one-of-those-everyday car for sale for lack of use - if only I had enough garage space for cars that don't have to work for a living. This seems like just the crowd that might have an interest or know someone who does: http://superformance.org/forsale/OV080510GH.html
S1Steve Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Hi Gunther, # 47 is very close to the 14k mile mark. My next project is doing something with the wheels, and I am happy to see yours painted. I was thinking about going alittle darker, and powder coated, $$$$ but yours look great !!! Steve # 47
Off Road SHO Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Wow, very nice. Would you be interested in trading for The Other Woman? http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/rvs/2024079928.html Tom
Kess Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 (edited) Hi Gunther, I sold my S1 several years ago for some other toys. Still miss it and keep thinking I will buy another 7 (my son really misses it). I keep looking. I missed an S1 with a rotary. I might try a Cat but and S1 likes yours would be great too. Good luck with the sale. If I find an extra $25K around I will drop you a line. Gary Former owner #45 Here is my for sale listing which has some cool original drawings and photos as the car was being prototyped for anyone interested. http://www.gmsr.info/pre2007/s1sale.htm Edited November 6, 2010 by Kess
