I have upgraded my Caterham Superlight R400 SV suspension to Aero Wishbones and Nitron shocks. So, if anyone can make good use of a set of nearly new upper and lower wishbones and Bilstein adjustable shocks just let me know. The car had about 500 miles on it when the change over was done.

Wide track front?

Are these SV suspension components interchangeable w/S3?

What are the available adjustments on the shocks: perch height, rebound, compression? If rebound/compression, how many separate adjustments are there and how accessible are the adjusters (Do you have to take the shocks off to adjust). Are the rebound/compression separately adjustable, or does adjusting one, adjust the other?

Thx,

Mike

These are the standard ones that come on the current Superlights. Looking at the Caterham UK site, these are the wide track and should fit both the SV and S3. They look like these - https://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1405 The shocks are adjstable for height and look like this -https://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=863

I think these are pre-set but you can adjust the ride height.

I hope this helps. I could get you pictures and email Tony at Caterham UK with any more detailed questions.

Mike, that's the set up that I have on my superlight. The wide track WILL fit with clams but if you don't have the wide track now, I believe you will need extentions for the steering rack. The Shocks have no adjustment at all. The Springs can be adjusted by loosening or tightening the adjustable spring perches. This allows you to change ride height. Well at least at the front unless you get the adjustable rears as well.

Thx Tom.

I just happen to have a brand new wide track steering rack in my basement. If Paul doesn't grab these, I will.

Mike...confirm with Ben or others but i didnt believe there's a 'widetrack rack'. if you have an S3, its the standard rack with extenders. the SV has a wider rack. also look at longer brake lines if you're converting to the widetrack.

Will do-I suspect I have the standard rack as you say, with longer steering rods. At one point my steering was acting up and I ordered a replacement and all they had was the one fitting a wide track. Chris T said just take off the longer rods and use those from my existing steering box. Naturally, as soon as I got the new box, the steering issue cleared up.

Didn't think abt brake lines, good point.

Hey Karl,

Put me in the queue. If Paul and Mike back out, I'll buy your parts.

Sorry to disappoint the rest of you but "the good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise..." I believe Karl and I have a deal.

Now... anyone have a spare anti sway bar to fit?

And while I'm searching, how about an e-brake handle for an early rhd S3? Boot cover?

OEM rollbar?
