Ruadhd2 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Here's a pic of my brother's almost complete Factory Five Cobra Daytona with Ford Windsor engine and knockoff hubs.
Hank Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 That's originally what I wanted to build but couldn't afford it. That and the bodywork involved. Beautiful car!
Automoda Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Call me crazy, but the next kit I'd like to build is a Lancia Stratos (modernized/upgraded). A rally car has a lot of fun potential... No need to rent time on a track to let the car do its thing. Here in Utah we have more than a few miles of wide open dirt roads to fly around. Currently I'm restoring an old Europa for a friend. It had been crashed 3 times and repaired while it was a race car. Its one of the European early models with the curved fenders. We've widened and flared (in a tasteful way that Lotus should have done) the fenders and we're adjusting some body lines here and there to try to rescue some good looks out of the car. He's got a 7 too, so the Europa will be his chilly weather (fall/spring, not winter) fun car, like the Stratos would be for me (if I can ever get around to it).
Ruadhd2 Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 5.8L/351 – 392 cubic inch – 430 HP (without the fuel injection) – GT-40 aluminum heads.
rzempel Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Since your title is plural "cars"...here's one of my other sunny day drivers.
Ruadhd2 Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 All done but the carpeting and loose ends.

twobone Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I've always had a soft spot for a tr4. I saw one the other day on YouTube that was supercharged. I'll take one in BRG with a surrey hard top
BusaNostra Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 No more kit car for me. I will restore my original Datsun 280z...I wish I kept my Fairlady.
