Ruadhd2
Happy Thanksgiving. Killerbee is back from the shop (RP Performance) with rebuilt 13-B rotary engine and transmission, new flywheel an clutch, new Holley Carb, and a bunch more. Want to drive her a little this weekend (top up and gently in neighborhood). Car weights about 1500 pounds. I know its the wrong tire. Not aggressive enough. Its an all season radial yada yada. So what pressures for daily excursions...loaf of bread, light country drive, etc.? lancylad
I'm running AST's (Kuhmo) For everyday I have them at 20psi, so far I am really pleased with them.
Croc
You call your car "Killerbee"? I love it! I run some Sumitomo sport tires at 18psi all round when I am in the car solo. If I have a passenger I bump the rears only up to 24psi otherwise the rear tends to be too firmly planted and I understeer badly. I would have thought a Rotus was lighter than 1500 pounds? Maybe more like 1300 pounds?
Ruadhd2
Thanks for the tire pressure suggestions. Haven't actually weighed the car. Will share pics soon. Just got it back from RP Performance at Summit Point, WV with rebuilt engine, tranny, new clutch, flywheel. All the electricals and mechanicals on the car are new except for the front end, driveshaft, suspension, rear end and brakes. Need to break it in. Hope it will finally be more or less reliable. MHKflyer52
I run 15x7 rims and Kumho tires on my car and run the following air pressures in them, 22 front and 24 rear for street and when I auto-x I usually run 26 front and 30 rear. I have also pulled out of my garage and driven to my office and could not understand why the car was pulling slightly to the right when I would take my hands off the steering wheel until I check my air pressures and found that the right front had less air pressure than my gauge would read, Yep it was flat (well leaked all air out of the tire) but still did not come off the rim or break the bead under normal driving. I now check the air pressure anytime I get the car out of the garage before going anywere as I feel I was very lucky that the stiff side wall tires I have on the car were stiff.
