Shell/Ferrari F1 Commercial -- WOW!!

This fantastic commercial probably made the USA7s rounds months or years ago, while I was asleep -- but just in case it didn't, here it is again.

 

It must have been a real thrill to drive these historic Formula 1 cars at speed, on the public roads in large cities on several continents.

 

I'll bet the logistics of arranging the venues and the timing of the photo shoots was a nightmare...

 

They drove the cars fast enough to leave the ground at one point, so they weren't just posing...

IIRC that was one of the most expensive commercials ever produced up to that point.

It's funny that this is making the rounds again like it just came out, it's from 2007.

Actually you only need to go about 40mph to get air. I just did a jump shot with a car going over a crest in the road at about 50mph and the car caught 5 feet of air. :driving:

I somehow hadn't seen it. I am with you Tom, Wow!. If anyone ever asks what its like to own/drive a se7en, I am going to show them this video:). It definitely captures the visceral experience & crowd reaction.

Those are both great video's.

The Shell commercial is one of the best in my belief especially having traveled to all those places and knowing just how much effort must have gone into getting the streets clear of traffic for the filming of that commercial besides getting the use of those cars from Ferrari.

Very cool to say the least.

As I said initially, this commercial has probably been around for awhile, but I (for one) had not seen it until recently.

It struck me as funny because it also showed up on a couple of other forums I go to yesterday as well

 

I'm also a little jaded as productions like this are pretty common to see where I live, not to mention I sort of do this for a living (albeit to a much smaller scale)
