JohnK Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Next time I pay my taxes I'll feel proud of what I'm supporting. What an incredible accomplishment.
Automoda Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I've always thought the space shuttle was a stupid idea. We could have launched a dozen capsule style craft for the same cost as each shuttle launch. I bet there'd be no fatalities. And I bet we'd still have a space program going strong to this day. Capsules make sense. They're just not as sexy.
Ruadhd2 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 This is not politically correct, but I'm for putting the money into American schools and building development centers where there is currently economic devastation and exploring inner space through meditation.
powderbrake Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 We never landed on the moon, dammit! No????? How did our guys walk on the moon?
Hank Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 No????? How did our guys walk on the moon? Uhm... it was staged? :willy_nilly:
pi7ot Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 No????? How did our guys walk on the moon? Haven't you seen "The Matrix"? CGI.:jester: m
Hank Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 3 things: 1) If they supposedly used a rocket to slow their decent before gently "landing" on the surface of the moon, where is the crater that would have been created from the rocket blast? 2) If we landed on the moon -what was it 5 times?- then why can't we use a telescope on Earth and look at the landing modules, flags, moon buggies, etc. left behind on the moon? We also left a reflector to shoot a laser from Earth to determine that the moon is slowly drifting away from Earth each year (fraction of an inch). I don't want to trust the Hubble or any other digital image. Those huge telescopes (i.e. Hawaii) that are covered by domes until partially opened. I want to sit in the little chair and look through the telescope and see freaking Armstrong footprints or leftover equipment dammit. 3) At the end of the moon visit the lander launches the capsule back into space. Why isn't there any visible signs of rocket exhaust from the bottom of the capsule? A few camera sparkles and the capsule just shoots up. http://hanksdeuce.com/images/tinfoilhatsmile.gif
