GBOLT
Went to a great show today and the old Meadowdale Raceway Forest Preserve. It is on the site of an old Road Course, and large sections of the old track are still in place. the show is held on what used to be the main straight. Ill add photos later Edited September 17, 2011 by GBOLT Could not post photos

11Budlite
Looks more like a Scarab. I think they started making recreations of the original Lance Reventlow Scarabs....
speedwagon
Bocars were mfg. in denver in the late 50s, using a devin body and a chevy small block with a GMC blower crank driven up front. have wanted one since they were new but now couldn't afford one if it was found. And that show is some part of history.
jimrankin
I am truely amazed at what treasures are hidden away all over this country in "small", as in 1-2 cars, collections or family garages/barns. Sometimes they get restored, as you can see by the show on this post, others sit for a generation or more. I have a friend who's wife inherited a just rebuilt '58 Porsche from her father that has been sitting in her garage as "a place to fold clothes out of the dryer" for 15+ years without being moved. And no, she won't part with it or let her husband put a battery and fresh gas in it, going to sit there till the next generation inherits it and then it hopefully will make one of these shows. I just hope that most of the performance cars, and that does not mean just big horsepower, in that show actually get out on track or even the highway on a fairly regular basis. I'm retiring this year and will finally get my own stored way too long "projects" back on the highway, and hopefully a track date or three. GBOLT
That was the great thing about this show, they are all driven in. The sounds are just fantastic. There was a TVR that looked better than the day it left the factory, mechanical art, and he races it. The lotus seven, looked very nice, and made me think of Bessie. The Allard took balls to drive, no way I would drive that at race speed. I look forward to this show every year, it keeps getting better. While all are welcome, it's not all hot rods and muscle cars.
