Someone take Duane for a blat, let him drive your Seven, that should motivate him.

No problems there, anytime we are on the road Duane is more than welcome to wet his feet...

Let me know when the next meet is. I'll try in earnest to make it.

.....and I was just notified I'll be missing the Shaw Show and shine on the 20th. :( Maybe next year.

Alright here is the list from memory, (there may be more)

- Bumpers Front has been welded up and ready to be cut to length. Rear needs to be fabbed. Just doing a straight bar across the rear

- Fuel Gauge I metered out the sender and got 156 Ohms. Next I''ll fill the tank and meter it again. The results determine the gauge I buy

- E-Brakes They have been tightened up. Cross that off the list

- Speedo cable The sender is wired and ready, the back of the gauge needs to be connected then tested. Apparently it will pass even though it's not calibrated, just as long as it shows life

- Tach What the hell is wrong with it?

- Wiper Motor It was working, and now it's not. Frustrating. Look up motor PN and start scouring the inet.

- Ball joints Replace the top ones with ones on hand, and photograph the bottoms for the inspection guy.

- Roll cage Bolt it down

- Side marker reflectors Attach them

- Seat belts Replace my spectacularly expensive and capable seat belts that are 50 state legal, with some crap from a car that was sold in Canada.

And breathe... Keep going Duane. So close now. Just think of that open road. Frustrating but you can do this

Rolling through the list one by one.

Rear bumper is still just a plan in my head, but four 45 degree bends should be all I need. I'll cut the 45's into lengths and rotate them as needed and weld them back together like one would build herders. It should look the part. I'll be mounting it under the rear tire carrier so I need not worry about losing the license light or what could be said is half the bumper system.

Fuel gauge and sender have been matched and installed. The Birkin, non threaded tank is a bit of a pain to work with, but I eventually got the sender in. Silly that I was doing that with a full tank of gas after testing the previous setup. Cross that off the list.

Wiper works!!! Just not when everything is assembled. (?) Bugger!! I'll be playing with this more to find were it's binding.

Ball joints have been replaced. While I was at it I started adjusting the tie Rod ends. The alignment was way out and the steering wheel wasn't centred. It's a bit of a pain to setup, and where I'm currently stuck. I am starting with centring the rack and the steering wheel. Then I have to adjust the tie Rod ends. There was some of the adjuster that wasn't threaded and it wasn't allowing for the full adjustment of each side. Now the parts are fully tapped it's a matter of setting them in spot and allowing for adjustments.

I suppose in time I'll just shore up the bumper I'm building.

Speaking of that..... Here's some pictures.

The tube got bent a little unevenly. The next step is to cut the passenger side to match a bit more to the drivers. The centre of the drivers side arm is at 45cm exactly.

I'll be welding in a bracket off the bottom of the tire carrier and drilling holes through that bracket and the tube to mount the bar permanently. Then I'll cut them all to length and cap the ends with reflectors. This should satisfy another requirement of the bloke at the government.

I also finished off the wiring for the speedo today. That should conclude all the concerns other than the seatbelts. I haven't tested the speedo for function yet because like an idiot I forgot my key at home and don't feel likes king the run back. Let me just say what a pain in the assay the wiring is once the scuttle is on.
