blubarisax
I wanted to give a shout out to George Alderman at Mid-Atlantic Caterham. I picked my car up from my local shop, after having the hoses to the brake fluid reservoir replaced, last night. (yes the ones from the factory were sweating brake fluid) I thought the brakes felt soft and had to head out early to a track day at Summit Point tomorrow. I called the shop on my way to an early meeting on the jersey shore and asked if I could stop into the shop to have them looked at. They said sure and before I knew it, the car was up on a lift getting the brakes bled. George was able to extract the elusive air that had had not been able to be removed with 3 brake bleeds. Thanks George, you're great! Karl
Guest speedcraft
Karl...not to hijack the thread but i had the same issue on the duratec car. seems like they used vacuum hose instead of hyraulic fluid compatible hose for those 3 lines to the reservoir. blubarisax
Mike (aka Croc) had the same issue. George Alderman showed me some line that came with an R500 kit he built that looked like the same stuff. Almost seems to be black rubber fuel hose, but it's not labeled as fuel hose... Strange... I mentioned it to Jon at Caterham USA and I think Mike did as well. These lines are not under pressure, but you could get degraded nitrile in your brake fluid and mess up your paint. Neither one is great. Karl
yellowss7
Ron (REDGOOSE) take note, as your new R500 was built by Jon in Denver as was Karl's and Mike's. You may want to have someone check or replace your hoses too. Tom
