Birkin42
Are you only bringing in 195x45-15's or other sizes as well?
jlumba81
+1 on the sizes. I don't supposed you'd be able to do any wheel/tire packages?
Guest Terry
The CR500 is only made in 2 sizes. 195x45 15 175x55 13 We are only bringing in the 15 inch CR500, rims are possible. Let me know what you are looking for.
blubarisax
Great tires, I've got them in 205/55-13 and 245/50-13 and use them as my rain tires for the track and on the street.
Croc
I second Karl on the recommendation. CR500s are really well suited to sevens. I have found them nicely progressive on the road and track. My car is currently running 195 45 R15 front and 245 40 R15 rear. I think Terry is importing the standard size that most roadsports run in the UK front and rear. We did a test with rear CSR rims and 245's on the back of a Roadsport and it destroyed the acceleration, those large rims require a big HP motor. Kitcat
I have the 195/45 15's on my 220 hp Birkin and they are very nice, with progressive, predictable, balanced, controllable, breakaway. Very light weight. I didn't find them effective in the rain tho, felt like I was on slicks. Also, in 1st and 2nd gear, as I hit the power band, they break loose and the car steps out. It is not an issue at higher speeds, tho I can "steer" w/the accelerator.

Changing the pressures makes a huge difference to the slip angles.

That was the preferred set up on the Superlight R's and R500's. Tom

My Superlight R has the 195's around. If the price is right, I am in need of a set of tires, but I imagine having to ship them from Canada is going to negate any savings . jlumba81
Well I'm interested in a set of 195/45r15. PM me when you have the pricing figured out. Do you have an ETA on when you will have the tires? Also what do you have over there for shipping? I couldn't get a quote thru fedex or ups. I'd have to call them but need details on the weights and dimensions. Forgot to add that I'm looking for minlite style wheels that have the proper offset. Kitcat
Are Avon CR 500's only available in England? Or, is there a USA dealer?

blubarisax
I got mine from Roger Kraus Racing on a special order (a few weeks) and they were great to deal with. They stock a limited supply of Avon slicks too.
Kitcat
Thx guys. As you know Karl, I put a hole in the side of one of mine Saturday, while also bending the wheel. First time I ever hit a pile of rocks when sliding off a racetrack. You'd think they wld remove them? Much nicer to just get grass stains on the tire, as I did in a subsequent slide off elsewhere. Of course, even nicer to stay on the track....
