pi7ot
They will. But they will still shove their bumpers up your chuff as they try to get a closer look, and also mistake the car for being further away than it really is due to it's small size. Nice set up. m
GBOLT
Yea, I know what you mean. We have all probably had the guy who decides to stop 1 inch away it seems. Invariably, it is on a hill.

GBOLT
That actually makes me angry. How can someone be that unaware? Idiot.
HankMauel
That actually makes me angry. How can someone be that unaware? Idiot. I'll hazard a guess...Cellphone. Out here on the Left Coast they are ubiquitous. What is really upsetting...the fine for talking on one while driving is about $50. However the fine for driving in the "commute lane" during restricted times with only one person in the car is $300-400. Now, tell me which is going to be more life threatening...one person in the HOV lane at the wrong time or the clown next to him at 60-70 mph yacking on the cellphone?:banghead:
slngsht
Actually this lady was not on a phone. Both hands on the wheel, mindlessly "driving"
MichaelD
Can you use a cell phone in the HOV lane?
HankMauel
Can you use a cell phone in the HOV lane? Not unless it's "hands free", although concentrating on driving is still compromised IMHO. The real issue is the "fine" versus the "degree of danger" to all drivers. Just for a side comment...we (my wife and I) were in the HOV lane "legally" the other day and passed a guy reading his newspaper on the steering wheel, doing about 65 in the morning "commute". jimrankin
I hear all these people complaining that if cell phones in cars are banned that they "can't do their job and that nothing will get done". What I'm really hearing is the core truth that they don't plan ahead and rely way too much on "instant" communications. Yes, the cell phone is really handy and invaluable in making last minute changes, calling in emergencies etc. but mostly I see it being used as a crutch. If the call is so important you "have to take it" then it must be important enough to pull off the highway and direct your full attention to it. I'm just about retired and after 40+, years of working in a business know for constant flux, 30+ of that running my own business I don't see much more in actual productivity for all the cell phone use. Oh, I'll take that back, big productivity gain in "home, wife and child drama". Guess I'll never figure out how I and the rest of the world managed to run businesses, raise productive intelligent children, keep our wives happy and get a world of other shit done without them. Hey, we even managed to build most of silicon valley without them. LOL.
