Hettric Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I have the diagram from the current online assembly manual, it's a little vague and shows no wire colors. Are there any others? Thanks
Hettric Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 I was wrong, there are colors - they just don't match my car!
xflow7 Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 I have the ca. 1999 manual. If it would be helpful I could scan the wiring diagram for you tomorrow and email it. Only caveat is that the clarity of the "original" in the manual isn't outstanding, and it may suffer a bit more once scanned. Which engine do you have? The wiring diagrams are a bit different. Dave
Hettric Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 Thank you Dave, I have a Miata, so I'm looking for the main diagram only. I have a 1995 diagram and current diagram, there are differences between them so I would be interested in yours.
coffee break Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 The wiring information in my factory manual has not been that informative. I also find conflicts in colour listed and color found. Another point of confusion (me) are some of the terms used. English to American dictionary needed.
bsimon Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I also find conflicts in colour listed and color found. Keep in mind that UK colour abbreviations found on wiring schematics are quite strange. N = brown B = black W = white U = blue R = red O = orange P = purple LG = light green K = pink Y = yellow S = slate Caterham follows the standard British wiring colours, for the most part. A chart can be found here.
Hettric Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Thanks Bob, I had found that color chart and it explained things some. A explanation of colors used and how/what info is provided that is typically present on a diagram would have made things much easier! Maybe I'm expecting to much from Caterham.
