Yes. I'm probably considered eccentric (Like a few of us here, hehe). I drive a 7 and ride this bike: Its a 2003 T-Bone by Reynolds Weld Lab. Titanium. Very fast up or down wind, on flats or downhill. Not so fast up hill. Its fast enough though, that I did very well on that 500 mile RAGBRAI ride in Iowa by gaining enough speed down the hills to nearly top the next one. Once upon a time when the legs were better I could take on most pace-lines solo. Mainly I use it for long range riding. 100 miles is no problem. Yesterday I got the 7 up and running for the year and today I'm taking the bike out for the first time this season. I hate winter. Everything I enjoy is for the warm weather.

As for the caterham bike. Um. Honestly it doesnt make sense to me. Its like a McDonnalds crossbow or a Ford tea cup set. I guess Jeep did the same thing-- they have Jeep mountain bikes.

Re the Caterham bike - looks about right to me. Tube frame chassis, minimal bodywork, lightweight, mostly old tech. It's a Caterham all right. And not much slower than their F1 cars...

How do you steer the T-bone? I can't see any mechanism connected to the front forks nor anything resembling a handlebar.

Yeah, the recumbents can be fast, but not so much uphill. There is a guy here that has one with a full fairing covering the entire bike, it is a rocket, I've chased him up at 30+mph on flat ground for a bit before he dropped me. I've heard he is an ex-national cycling champion so I am sure that played a part in it

I have 4 bikes right now, this BMC is my primary bike, put over 10k miles on it in a bit over a year

Actually, it has been a pretty common thing over the years for car manufacturers to produce bikes, though most of the time they are just standard bikes rebranded. Interestingly it appears so far that this Caterham bike is of their own design

McLaren Venge - A Specialized Venge that McLaren reconfigured the carbon layup to make it "slightly lighter and stiffer" and then charged twice as much for it $18,000

Lotus famously made these in the early 90's, they are collectors items now

I have a Lotus Elan bike from the late 70s. The name was a total ripoff but it was enough to get me to buy it.
