wcmgoldie
I needed rollbar clamps for my o5 ultralight and I measured it and thought it was 1.5" the 1.5" clamp flopped around on the bar so I ordered 1.25" and that is too small. Are the rollbars a weird size like 1-3/8" ? I used the piaa light mounts and they dodnt fit. Anyone know of any aluminum ones that fit?
xcarguy
wcmgoldie, I use a carpenters framing square to measure roll bar diameter (see picture). Place the framing square on the roll bar as shown. Measure the length read across the edge of the framing square where intersects the apex of the roll bar. Double this measurement and you have your diameter. Try these guys for aluminum roll bar clamps/mounts: http://www.colemanracing.com/Search.aspx?k=roll%20bar%20bracket X
coffee break
Tube steel has a nominal diameter of 1.50 in (for example) but there are tolerances to the dimensions. The material can be undersize and still be considered the stated size. Thin shim stock could be used to make up the gap. A little trial and error is involved. jimrankin
Our local chain hardware store sells a hard rubber tape that is sticky on one side and smooth on the other, sticks in place on the mount so you can remove it with no residue left on the roll bar but compresses tight enough that it won't slide around. The tape is fairly thick, sub 1/8" but not by much and does compress a bit. Should take up any problem with undersized tune stock.
wcmgoldie
I found my digital caliper the bar is 1-3/8". There's not many clamps made for that size
