breezy7 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 (edited) Caterham just announced its new entry level 7 using a Suzuki turbo engine. It will have a 5 speed transmission and a live axle all provided by Suzuki. All the press I read was from outside the U.S. and doubt it was designed with the USA in mind. I was at Caterham USA in May and they were building a new car and I think the engine is from the Ford Fiesta with the idea of being a more affordable car. Toyotus 7 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I love this idea. It would be very fun, economical and respectably fast car.

pi7ot Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I wonder if the intake snorkel/filter combo weigh as much as one more cylinder? m
Canadian 7 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Anybody want to buy a donor? I have a car with a Suzuki 660cc 3 cylinder turbo! http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj527/vipergts-r/d3b5911a826ad5582a8bbd1f0c1ed4ab.jpg
TLRracer Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 When I lived in Japan I had a Suzuki Cappuccino - it had a 660cc Turbocharged engine and was loads of fun. That engine was a great engine!
Canadian 7 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 My AZ-1 has the same engine, just mid engine instead of front, and yes the car is a blast to drive!
