also, does anyone know where some headlights like these can be found..... affordably?.....

You can buy Hella hi/lo beam halogen projector modules for $127. I like them better than the HID ones because they are much cheaper, ample bright, don't have the additional ballast circuit and can flash.

But they are just the core. You would have to craft a housing around it like the ones on my car, then paint them, wire and fabricate an appropriate stalk or receptacle for you car. If you have access to a 3D-printer I can mail you the .stl files that I used (if can still find them, that was 5 years ago).

Those are the headlights I fitted to my Caterham. Worth every penny. The source mentioned in the OP has them at a new, lower price.

If carbuildersolutions' website worked, I would have blown $700 already on lights. I can't believe how hard it is to find lights for Kit cars. Hours of searching and only the UK and Australia sell them.

And as I mentioned in the first post, the car builder website is perfect for us....... I just don't want to get raped with VAT with how many things I want to buy from there.

Hard to imagine that our car culture sucks so bad compared to theirs. It seriously makes me consider moving to the UK or Australia.

If people are into non-traditional lights I bought a set of these:

I bought special order through a local Hella dealer rather than from the on-line supplier to let someone else deal with the hassle of shipping and customs.

  • 3 weeks later...

After a long cost benefit analysis process :toetap05: Lights I don't really like $200 (or the ugly ones currently installed) vs about $700 total for something I do like. Huge price difference. In the end = worth it.

I went with all of these from car builder solutions

left to right

Pair of best looking head lamps

pair of rear lights

reverse light

ugly brake light and extremely small turn signal

the hood grinds on these 7" headlights every time I raise or lower it.
