Driving Shoes?

Taber,

You're welcome.

The green/yellow is OK for me too. It doesn't make much sense that the same shoe in blue with a different number on the toe would cost nearly $100 more. Blue with a 7 on the toe is a perfect match for my Caterham.

Stirling is still alive and probably getting an "endorsement" fee. Jimmy Clark, not so much. Still, a nice price score for you. Post up some photos of you, your new shoes and your car when they are all together at one time.

The "Jim Clark" driving shoes came in today. Includes extra shoe laces--in yellow, which I immediately switched out for the white ones on the shoe. Size seems correct to me. I am "lucky" that the green/yellow is correct for my Cat7 SV, but for some reason I want to add a white number circle and a "5" to the bonnet!

Thanks again to you guys for posting this info--you don't get $60 shoes in my size very often.

+1. Both my wife and I switched to the yellow laces.

It would be nice if there was an easy way to add and remove a white circle and number to our cars. Funny how magnets don't work well with fiberglass or aluminum.

Mine arrived a couple of days ago. My first thought when I took them out of the box was that they looked like the bowling shoes I so often rented out when I worked on the desk of a bowling alley in the '60s. I suspect that I will be asked if I really wear size 5 bowling shoes. :D

The extra pair of designer insoles was nice but I have to have custom insoles and a pair of them fit perfectly in the new shoes. I think a pair of the designer insoles will find themselves a spot on the wall of my shop. The shoes will get their first driving experience today as the weather is nice and I am headed for a car show. I haven't decided whether to change to the yellow laces but probably will.

Pictures of the new shoes and the designer insoles. I wore them for a drive to a car show and then to a party on Saturday. They did well for new shoes and a lot of walking.

They felt better than my sneakers or the Pilotis while driving the Caterham today.

When I first got my Seven I bought a pair of racing shoes from a local Porsche dealer. I wore them twice and was not prepared to change every time I arrived somewhere. A change of shoes was necessitated do to the fact treading on a match stick felt like treading on a 2x4, very painful. I now wear a pair of very slim and very white Pumas which now sport an aluminum racing stripe down the outer side from rubbing on the foot well. But they are very comfy and allow for all the deft footwork demanded by a Seven. :)
