  1. Mike, the T9 is included. My cell is 214-621-2344 if you'd like to call.
  2. Hey Mike, The Birkin is still with me, as yet.
  3. Hey Blackburd, Yes, I sold the BDA. The car is complete but minus engine, starter, carbs, and alternator. I think $10k is fair for the car, and for another $1k the trailer can be included.
  4. Howdy, This car now has no engine, starter, carbs, or alternator.
  5. It is time to sell a project that I am now too old, and busy, to have on the schedule. This is a 1999 Birkin 7 S3 kit that was built 10 or 11 years before I bought it in 2012. I received it as a very well sorted 7 that had never been titled. The previous owner pretty much just auto crossed it and cruised in it. Shortly after I bought it, I found a perfect all steel, tuned, and refreshed hot street Cosworth built 1700 BDA. I jumped in the deep end and paid big bucks for the BDA. I sold the Kent 1600 crossflow to help fund this project and never got around to completing it. Crazy me, as it was a phenomenal car with the original engine. This car has lived in my enclosed trailer since 2012. I have finally come to the conclusion it is time and have sold the Cosy BDA. The easiest build would be with a Ford Kent or Zetec engine, as that would put the exhaust and the carbs on the correct sides. A Duratec would require changing intake and exhaust sides and thus covering the original cutouts. The first three photos were taken today, with the rest from 2012. I have a perfect LBC trailer that can be included. It was purpose built for MGT series cars but is perfect for the 7. Other than engine, carbs, starter, and alternator everything is complete including crank fired ignition. While I need to run to East Texas to get the T9 tranny out of my storage trailer there, I am internally debating how to price this. Or maybe should just put it on Don't Bring a Trailer.
  6. Bump The BDA is still for sale.
  7. I bought this 1700 BDA from Craig back in 2012. It has remained in it's crate, in a climate controlled garage ever since. My project has been delayed so many times that I must surrender. As such, this beauty is up for sale.
  8. Yes AFR does look pretty safe. The 35-36 total advance is a bit more than the absolute max 34 I've been accustomed to. But that could be related to how quickly/slowly the mixture ignites. So I'd guess the fuel used could be an issue. I will be very attuned to the verdict, and solution. And very sorry to hear of the catastrophic failure......
  9. Fuel quantity required could also have increased at the higher revs. Lean condition?
  10. Check the carbon contact in the cap, and the condition of the rotor to cap spark jump.
  11. Updates, and what's next: Progress has been slow due to a really torn up right shoulder. I'm trying to delay surgery until my house project and the engine swap are done, and surviving on a couple of steroid shots every couple of months. Kenny Anderson bought the Xflow to put into his Buckland B3. Engine came out yesterday. I traded Dick Brink the NIB ZX3 for parts credit. It will take a bit of calculating to figure out what all parts I can/want to reuse. My biggest quandary (so far) is how and where to mount the dry sump tank. There is excess length in the passenger footwell. Dare I just start drilling out rivets to find a shorter footwell? It seems there may be another set of braces about 7" back. The hoof end of the footwell is just a molded plastic piece. Can it be removed individually?
  12. The engine has sold. Thank you all! As I understand, it will spend the next stretch of it's life in a Buckland B3. Interesting project!
  13. Thanks for the confirmation, Automoda!
  14. Ok most is apart, and figuring out how to fit the following: Ordered dry sump tank: http://www.ebay.com/itm/360530587960?item=360530587960&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:L:OC:US:3160&vxp=mtr Remote filter mount: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CMIZV2/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 I think that I can use the Caterham 4-2x2 header, 2-1 collector, and (should I use?) the super trap that came with the engine. All of this (in just steel) weighs a good 20# less than my current SS exhaust setup. If that all works out, I'll get it jet hotted. I think I'll have to modify the RH motor mount to clear the scavenge pipe going from the dry sump to the oil pump. Dick Brink has a better ratio 5sp gearbox (2.5, 1.81, 1.26, 1, .87) to go with my 4.11 rear, so I think that will be a part of the transition. My current setup likes climbing poles in first (3.36, 1.81, 1.26, 1, .825), even with the XF. Dick also has one last LSD in stock, and I suppose that I should snag that while available. What else am I missing? Ahh yes, the transplant: http://britcarfun.com/images/birkin/beasty.jpg
  15. Ok, I can get the Deka ETX14s for $50. I'd think UPS ground to most would be ~ $12-$15. They are 220 CCA.
