  1. Ha! But as I said, as a hot rod, there's some virtue in the enterprise. Not enough rear tire, and wires are not compatible with torque, but should be quick, and certainly unique. But as a sports car, FAIL! Without any experience, I like the CSR layout in theory. What is your experience with it? I am thinking it was the inspiration for the Brunton Stalker XL, or perhaps the other way around. But lots of arse and thigh room in your SV CSR, and more room for the 5 foot positions of the Caterham driving ballet, for which the tighter confines of my S3 cockpit makes me jealous. I also believe your chassis can handle more power, and with inboard suspension, can provide higher top end due to improved aero. All of that said, a driver can become truly one with the S3 in a completely unique way, much like a formula race car, so there are benefits to balance the space detriments. Do you have the sequential shifter - I really wanted to buy a Cat with one of those, but none were available.
  2. Do you think that's real wood? Wouldn't surprise me, but I thought they were conventional fenders painted to match the steering wheel. And apparently real wire wheels - sheesh! But, again, in fairness, looks like incredible execution of a multiplicity of suspect ideas. As a hot rod, it's actually pretty good, but as a sports car seeking inspiration from Chapman's Seven, it's a travesty.
  3. OMG, that "Chevy 7" that is new this week - the biggest bundle of mixed metaphors I've ever seen! Heavy, ill-handling all-season Integrity tires, a hot-rodder's wet-dream 4 barrel projecting up through a yard-square hole in the hood, a Rolls-Royce or old Jag hood ornament, metal covers added to the front a-arms (evidently for the benefit of added weight), worse aero than an S3 Caterham, a single wiper that clears only the passenger side (so, in rainy weather, they can better visualize their impending doom), and apparently exquisite build quality including custom wind wings, double-stack nerf bars, and a set of very nice taillights! I get dizzy just looking at it!
  4. I know that car - talked to the owner several times. The car is absolutely gorgeous and practically brand-new. This car is special - purposely smaller to more closely emulate a Super Seven, light for a Stalker, and a terrific color, too. Great choice! Did you keep your Corvette? Hope so, so you have something your wife will drive in with you! PS - love the Santa cap!
  5. Thanks, Dan. Those are feel-good words!
  6. Astro Bob - Thanks for the very reasonable and practical condolences. My wife evinced a similar opinion. Both of my other cars are too custom and too costly to repair for use on the track, She said, if I had concluded the Deronda sale, I would own a third car that I couldn't risk. Fair enough. So often, God in His wisdom has intervened in my life, to my great good fortune, and, on balance, I believe losing the Deronda was another such instance. And how are you doing? You were experiencing random thoughts regarding the purchase of a Caterham - has this happened? Was that the reason for your question regarding the racing/wet light on my Cat? Hope so! In any event, the light is manufactured by Lifeline. Here's a link to a listing on Amazon for the same light: https://www.amazon.com/Lifeline-Racing-Weather-Safety-Formula/dp/B07BP9XV3H And here's a closer image of the Lifeline light:
  7. Your Seven is parked so close to your 'Stang and Miata, it is either trading paint or mating with them. Looks like the Seven and the 'Stang were already busy, judging by the Cobra in the corner. What should we expect from the Seven + Miata? Maybe an Exocet?
  8. This must be the 2003 Zetec listed in your signature. Looks safe, well-designed and well-executed. Nice color of blue, too. Is it fast? Good luck with the sale.
  9. From Croc's list, I reached out to the owner of the 2009 R400 Superlight. We worked out the details, and Miles sold me his work of art. I am unsure as to whether I should buy plate and tabs, or drain the fluids and mount it on my family room wall. The volume of details, the purpose in every curve, the finish on every surface is spectacular. With so many square feet of carbon fiber and aluminum, the car feels light as a shadow. Everything I loved about Super Sevens is coming back in waves: Boat-anchor brakes; Thought-mediated steering; Booster-rocket mid-range; And everywhere around you, glorious scintillas of sun sun sun. It's compact, with that wondrous factory six-speed, so I'm retraining my size 10's in the five basic foot positions of Caterham ballet. Miles and his lovely wife De Ann were awesome, and I thank them again. Miles was a devoted caretaker and developer of this car. Now it's my turn! Here's a few images of the new car:

  11. Croc - Once again, thanks for your diligent and longstanding efforts regarding these Seven listings. By uniting buyers and sellers across the continent, you promote Seven culture and the Seven driving experience in a uniquely practical way. For most folks, finding inventory of these vehicles is difficult, but you take all the strain out of the endeavor. Sports cars are beloved by many. Some drive two-ton Tessies with eleven quadrillion horsepower and six wheel drive. Many wonderful cars occupy that sweet middle zone - the Honda S2000, the Lotus Elise/Exige/Evora, the Mazda RX-7, the Corvette, the Porsche 911/Boxster. Our selections lie at the opposite end of the spectrum - tiny, open, boutique vehicles equipped with God's own power, telepathic handling and a triple serving of wind in your face. The fact that our cars, once sampled, are irrevocably life-altering and addictive is secondary - we first need people to own them, to drive them, to seize that miniscule flat-bottomed Momo and soar up into the clouds. You, Croc - and this Forum - are facilitators. You are spreaders of our addiction and all the joy it brings. There aren't many with your voice, and that makes you important to the cause. Please keep up the great work!
  12. I couldn't take my eyes off those . . . wings.
  13. Thanks - I'll save this info. My car purchase has been pushed back at least three weeks.
  14. That logo includes the entire Caterham front grille (which I prefer to the Brunton's obstructive new grill, but is the wrong shape and size for a Brunton). So, I would have to remove about half the grill while paying more than twice as much. Still, a viable last-ditch option, and I thank you sincerely for presenting it.
  15. Just rcvd a text with your phone number - will call tomorrow the 21st - thanks!
  16. Has anyone been able to contact the seller of the silver 2008 Caterham R400 in Croc's Incredible Seven Shopping List? I've sent messages, as has my wife, but no response. I've looked up the business name referenced in the ad, but can't find any information on the web.
  17. Anyone know where I can purchase a traditional Super Seven front grill emblem? These are typically laser-cut steel (preferably stainless), and feature the outline of a large "7" measuring about 7.5" tall and about 8" wide. The digit is surrounded by a halo of steel, as in the image below. Let me know if you have access to supply. Thanks!

  19. Not my cup of tea. Not Earl Grey. Not even Lipton. Reminds me of the Panoz aluminum-intensive roadster, only smaller and less pretty. I suppose you could buy it with the intention of performing rhinoplasty. You would end up with a sophisticated, obese Caterham. To me, that is mission failure for a Super Seven, which is supposed to provide light-as-possible, nerve-titillating, in-your-face performance. The Dare looks more like a pretender - a boulevardier rather than a track weapon - a car in search of character and possibly a really good stereo system.
  20. The Dare is already posted - check the "New" listings, up near the top.
  21. I MEANT TO QUOTE CROC: "Great video and glad you had a great experience first time out on track with the 620R. Love the circuit - a safer version of the Nurburging."
  22. Much like the Nurburgring, indeed, except for miles of safe, flat runoff. no monster pine trees (or ANY trees, for that matter), a paucity of traffic (especialy those lovely minivans and transits), manageable speeds, and a complete absence of Armco under your elbows. That 620R is a rare and wonderful bird, with similarly iridescent plumage. A terrific purchase, Cemaykan, and a car to keep for life - congratulations! I am also in the market for a road/track car, and recently, my attention has shifted to the Seven imaged below. I am seduced by the same attraction afflicting Kitcat - the desire to massage a sequential shifter. There are several on the market now, designed for LS series motors, and they can be adapted to the Brunton drivetrain with minor fuss. Scott Minehart has offered to perform the installation if I ship the car down to his FL shop. If anyone has experience with installation of a sequential, especially vis-a-vis a Stalker, please advise:
