  1. The first car badged as a Lotus: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2015/02/19/upcoming-auction-to-feature-the-first-car-to-wear-the-lotus-badge-colin-chapmans-1952-mark-iiib/?refer=news I bet it never looked this great back in the day. Love that interior shot. Anyone won a lotto recently? Mr. Croc?
  2. Blue and white = USA racing colors! Otherwise, it would have to be BRG, also dark. Here in Texas, just being in the sun is bad. Sometimes you just take your choices. This one won't be cruising with the AC on.
  3. bump of sorts. I sign up for the year. We are usually finished about 15:30. If we could get 3 7s on "street" (140 wear #) tires, it could be a class. Race tires would be in DM.
  4. I fail to see the problem. Some forget that while beauty is only skin deep, so is ugly. Maybe it should be posted on LocostUSA site. (I'll leave it to y'all.) Other than the freight, customs, etc., all it needs is a quick stop at Harbor Freight for an electric saw and modest hand tools. Strip off all, ALL, (really, ALL) the visible body and replace with locost bits, and puff, a viable Westfield!
  5. "A bunch of Caterhams all at the same workshop/dealership in SF area - repeat visitors. In fact they have been here so much you have to wonder if they (or the seller) have something wrong. " I can guess what's wrong. The PRICE! Anything can sell if one adjusts the price accordingly. People would say there's a lot "wrong" with my car, but the price was right.
  6. As opposed to the Birkin Formula One team? (mines a Birkin)
  7. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-caterham-super-seven/ as of 11-20, it's at $7k, but 12 days to heat up. not mine, etc.
  8. "However, here is a beauty for Shane. I think it may be an electric seven. Is that an electric motor in the boot/trunk area? Needs some finishing touches to be perfect. A few wiring things to tidy up. Maybe a bit of a polish to make her shine? $1500. http://janesville.craigslist.org/cto/4674910930.html " Did no one recognize the missing LotuVolks? The front suspension is classic. Combine the genius of Porsche, Chapman and Watts and this is what you get.

I stripped the chassis to bare metal and have repainted and re assembled it. The Kent motor and transmission are not with the car, and there are many choices of vintage and current motor options, depending on your preferences.... Body panels are readily available This is a good opportunity if you have always wanted to complete one of these super quick cars for street or track age shown is approximate, and it is a clone , not a true LOTUS http://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/4672068031.html Sounds like one here about a year ago. Very old looking. Rough. In some "museum" donated but not wanted, by them. Maybe bought cheap by someone for the engine/gearbox? I can't remember the asking price (with engine), but I don't think it was more that now, without.
  10. SCCA Texas Region autocross starting this weekend. What venue could be more perfect for a Seven? Beat the Corvettes on courses they are too fat for. Not much money. If we could get a few to commit, I'm sure the region would give us a separate class. Great excuse to get together once a month. First event is at a small lot, all others about a mile. One event on Texas Motor Speedway infield road course. Go to the link. http://texasscca.org/soloautocross Sign up. Come beat my old (1980s) Birkin and it's old, fat driver. If you get a trophy, wouldn't you really rather have it from SCCA?
  11. I just bought it. I guess now I need to officially join the club and post a new thread. Thanks to USA7s.
  12. OK, I give up. I want it. If you're ready, call or email. mgillett123@yahoo.com 214-415-9258
